“The unique, celebrated annual outdoor exhibition ‘Rise of the Non Conformists’ draws inspiration from the incredible history of the local area. Taking place on former ‘Squalors Market’ which existed outside the City walls, just a stones throw away from the dissenters graveyard ‘Bunhil Fields’- where William Blake, Daniel Defoe and other Non Conformist mavericks were laid to rest. ‘Whitecross Street’ has played host to dozens of established and emerging; contemporary, cult, counter-culture and outsider artists for five years now, with cleverly mounted artwork within the street’s architecture”.
